The bitlocker hack had an easier route. The hash key is stored in a disk location. That is how you even boot into a working environment.

However despite the tough situation you are going through, I sincerely hope things can be resolved between you and the antagonizing party's or you can get closure the way you feel is just.
The dead mans switch post in particular was a bit worrying 😅, maybe you'll prove me wrong but I honestly believe there's no solution to make a corporation like Microsoft bend in the way I think your hoping for.
